Summer time
Just needed to bring up this pic. Kaili and me had a blast of a time in the summer. me waiting to get the thesis started and him on his summer breaks. The whole July we were working out together. The average daily workout plan: -2k swim in the lake/-2hrs pumping in the gym big time /-hitting the court for some ballin' till dark...happy days, man.

The trip
I met Cyp (my class mate from UWS) in Paris, where I had a 10h stop over before flying to Sao Paulo. We got so pissed and I easily burned 100€ for beer.
Sao Paulo is huge. Like, massive. 11mio people.
Ana e Thi
Next day we took the board to drive to Santos and Guaruja. Nice weather and some beautiful smooth breaking waves. And I really was impressed about ocean there. It was so clean, considering that Sao Paulo is 45min drive away and Santos is a big city with a huge industrial habor.
In Maresias we saw some big big waves. The guys were out with jet skis. Really impressive.
The jungle there was beautiful and seemed untouched from human hand. Sometimes it felt like being in the middle of the rain forest.
In Rio de Janeiro, we chilled out at the beach, went surfing at praia de Prainha, visited all the famous places and just enjoyed the atmosphere of this outstanding and wonderful city.

In Brazil
Unreal, this is all I can say. I am here since almost a week now and still don´t really get it. The first two days, I got to know São Paulo a bit better - loved it straight away. There is so much life in the streets and everything seems to be restless and in motion. People are at the streets 24hrs and go out and have a good time.
Then we went to Santos and further to Guarujá. The beaches are soo nice here. And everybody is so chilled out. I got some beautiful waves - had really good/smooth surfs. And the water, so warm.
Pics are gonna come soon.
Happy days.

By the way
...I am back in cold Germany since a while. Yeah, kinda settled in a bit. My love for the ocean is still (and will be forever) too strong, though. It feels like I am running dry, step by step. I miss Maroubra and every tiny thing that is connected to it.
But fortunately I have my very good mates here, who do everything they can to distract me. And most fortunate I got the chance to visit Brazil. Means I'll have a trip down there from beginning till end of April.
I let you guys know everything about the trip-
The pics below are from the cross country skiing session my very good mate Borsti and me did the other day. We've been to our local mountains ('Oberhof' in the 'Thüringer Wald'), roughly 1h drive by car away from my place. Got into the nature a bit, which was really good for my body and soul.

Konne is here
John Shore
Guys, John Shore is the greatest hero ever existing. Maroubra's one and only. Like, from back in the good old days. This guy, my friends, surfed waves when cyclones were reshaping entire shore lines. When the ocean turned into a merciless beast, devouring too many poor souls who dared to challenge it. RIP
We are his young blood, the Marine Corp., keeping up his spirit.
